As part of the M.Sc. Applied Business Data Science, students with a business background are trained in Data Science to meet the challenges that digitalisation brings for many companies. More and more data is converging in structures that can hardly be analysed, processed or used without the right understanding and solution-oriented approaches. Data scientists or data analysts understand the complexity of data and use models to develop solutions and answer questions. In this way, they can generate targeted added value for their company based on their findings.
Students get a very realistic picture of what it takes to be a good data analyst and what potential employers actually expect. In order to learn and apply the most important procedures and methods in the M.Sc. Applied Business Data Science programme, students work with real data from real companies. Essential questions are addressed: How can one predict whether a customer will cancel a current contract at some point in the future or not? How can homogeneous customer segments be formed within a customer database?
